Was good for an overnight stay (we would not have chosen this for a longer holiday).
+Service was great; staff knowledgeable and friendly.
+Pretty grounds; very scenic outdoor area.
+Good high ceilings.
+Great shower; good pressure and heat (still don't know what the beads are in the shower head?)
+Nice Arran hand soaps and moisturisers in bathroom.
+Bed was comfortable.
-Signs of wear (still a functional hotel)
-Room was cold (not unbearably freezing, but cold), radiator did not work.
-Bathroom fan which goes on when light goes on was quite loud and stayed on for quite a length after light went off.
-Lamps over the bed did not work; only options at night were the bright room light or darkness.
-Like everywhere else in Scotland; the menu is old man's food of sausages, beans, etc (nowhere does healthy gluten-free sugar-free vegan). The person I was with loved the "full" breakfast, so that's a positive.
