We came here becasue we were staying at the hotel and had recieved a 10% off for being platinum members of starwoods loyalty program. Waitress was nice, food was decent but a tad on the pricey side ($12.95 for grilled cheese sandwich meal for my 4 year old) but what really ruined it for us was the strict adherence to policy rather than trying to do what is right for the customer.
One example of this was a fixed price menu. My wife is celiac (requires gluten free) which is one of the things that the restaraunt promotes (gluten free dishes) well the fixed price menu was not gluten free at all (none of the 4 choices) so my wife asked if something could be done (normally probably wouldnt have but since they appeared sensitive to the needs of Gluten free people) the waitress was fantastic at running back to the kitchen a few times to try and make it work, but each time she had to follow the policy. One such decision was not allowing substitution of the flat bread in the fixed price offering, with their gluten free flatbread, becasue the portions in the fixed price are smaller and they can't adjust the size of the flatbread portion. Ridiculous!
2nd example was the hotel charges a resort fee of $30/night. when they put this in place 5-6 years ago, they came up with a list of things that you get for the resort fee to "justify" the $30. one of these things is a free kids meal at RumFire with the purchase of an adult entree. Well again their policy while completely unrelated is that if you use this discount then you are no longer entitled to the 10% discount for a thank you for being a platinum member of their loyalty program. Two completely different things, and I can't believe the management wouldn's see it as such, but I did double check and triple check to make sure that they were really focused on upholding their policies rather than doing the right thing. SIlly.
