Walked in for dinner here and was seated at the upstairs bar. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu , she walked us through the options and how best to approach the menu, how many dishes to get from what section etc.
We were brought an amuse bouche to start, a gluten free dough ball with some filling. It didn’t taste good. Ordered the rutabaga coxinha which also had a very strange taste and mushy consistency. There was way too much horseradish crema which gave the dish a weird flavour. Then the wagyu reuben turned it all around. It was so good! Delicate meat and crispy bread, with spicy truffle mustard was a perfect appetizer. The brussels were too charred for my liking but still good with feta and pomegranate. The lamb dish was quite nice, had a good char and spice to it, with a balance of fresh zucchini. Lastly we tried the fried chicken which was good, but the bottom was soggy from the sauce that it’s on, maybe there is a better way to present it.
It was distracting to sit at the bar because it was super messy. There was a kettle plugged in right in front of us that the staff used to make americanos through out the evening. There were lots of different trays of dishes, appliances, stuff for cocktails, random jars of jam… You’d expect a cleaner, most organized space for the kind of restaurant Sara says it is.
