SLA thai restaurant

They used to have these amazing gluten free dumplings. I wish they would bring them back. Used to go there much more frequently just for them

Definitely not your average Thai restaurant, but also not great unless you yourself are average. If you don’t eat meat or have any dietary restrictions, SLA is not for you. The place touts gluten free options, but zero of those are also actually vegetarian (beware, they think fish sauce is vegetarian, and keep a separate “vegan” menu to differentiate), and they can’t or won’t cook to order. I wound up with a rather boring bowl of vegetable tom yum and a side salad that consisted of lettuce, some weird but not unpleasant peanut dressing, a couple of slivers of tofu, and two grape tomatoes, sliced in half. Not a meal I’d pay to repeat. If you eat meat and want something Thai that you cannot get everywhere else, SLA is your spot. If you need a Thai restaurant that can pivot to meet your needs, this is not your restaurant.
