Safeway

Super easy grocery shopping between Georgetown and Chevy Chase. Lovely produce, specialty items. Older store -- small -- but quite comfortably quaint. Awesome spot to stop to stock up a fridge for Airbnb, to pick up daily groceries for local residents, or to grab items for things like a Gluten-Free picnic.

There's not too much to say about a grocery store unless it's really good or really bad, and this Safeway is neither. Prices for produce are often higher than Giant, and the store is small and poorly organized. You would think that it would make sense to, for example, put all of the specialized gluten-free food (as opposed to that which is naturally gluten-free) in a particular section (as would make sense for organic food or Asian food or whatnot) but it's scattered throughout the store.
