Saffron Bistro (Nepalese & East Indian Restaurant)

A great little hole in the wall in NE Calgary. The food here is fantastic and the majority of the dishes are gluten free if you are looking for that option. The house spices used are mouth watering. Definitely give it a try if you are craving authentic Indian dishes, the vindaloo is one of the best I’ve tried in the city.

Craving for Indian food tonight. Couldn’t make up my mind where to go eat? Passed by this restaurant before, but I thought it’s only for take out. Dark small entrance, easily missed. But today I saw a hand written sign said dine in open😍. OK, give it a try I thought. Hmm… the entryway was giving me a doubtful feeling. No fancy decoration. Just clean and basic. The Server was nice. Menu is straightforward, price is very decent. We ordered Karma Lamb, Mango fruity chicken, coconut rice and garlic naan. Besides meat dishes, lots of veggie and gluten-free choices. Nice decent portion size. Look great and taste wonderful. Very mild just as I like it. I would absolutely recommend this place and I’ll come back to try more menu items. True hidden gems
