Sakanaya Izakaya

We came in this evening for a family night out. Kathryn was fantastic. I am gluten free and she took great care of me!

美味しいカツカレーと寿司! 🩷🎉🔥 I loved the katsu curry so much and the makimono sushi rolls. I am really picky about Japanese food. The flavor here was perfection. The japanese curry was so delicious it brought back so much joy and memories of when I used to eat it with family in Missouri over 15 years ago. I have never been able to find anyone who could make it just like that except at Sakanaya Izakaya. It was perfect!!! I also got the Tiger roll which was probably the best Tiger roll I have had before. Everything tasted so fresh. The flavor combinations were perfect. I will order again. I also got the Fire Roll. I loved sitting in the honeycomb seat and the wishing tree. The whole restaurant was decorated so beautifully. I felt like I was in Japan. Also, service was very good. I will definitely be back. Update: Came back and got Tiger Roll Fire Roll and it was great! Got the Krannert Roll bc I love eel and it was amazing. I love how they make substitutions here- I am gluten free and was able to get rolls not deep fried or with panko crumbs. Husband got the Volcano and a deep fried roll but I forgot which one and loved it.
