Sala VIP Pau Casals

This is one of the best VIP lounges I have ever visit and I have visited many. Outside of middle eastern lounges and a few in Asia this is the one I enjoy the most. With a great selection of foods, wines and liquors (afternoon), unlimited cava and all self served you feel like you own the place. People are nice and plenty doing their work, cleaning is constant and the atmosphere is phenomenal with great lighting and a calm ambiance even on busy days. I am greatly thankful to have BCN as my main connection to the world and always enjoy this superb lounge and get excited when it is on my schedule. Used two dragon passes before my flight at BCN. The checkin didnt take too long. There was a decent selection of food and it was being restocked quite frequently. They had a sign saying ask for gluten and halal options so i decided to go ask the staff. The waiters/kitchen staff said to approach front desk so i went. Front desk seemed confused as well so she called her supervisor Miguel i believe. His intentions were good and he said to come see him but his explanation for halal options wasnt very convincing. He started off with explaining halal to us and he was sort if implying that chicken this is chicken so you can have that but didnt have a definite answer 😂 i think he just thought if its not pork its halal. We decided to stay clear of meat items after that and just stuck with dessert chips etc. limited our options greatly and ill be honest given for an international airport you would think of they had a halal sign info up they would know exactly what it entails but they did not. Tables were cleared frequently during our short stay there was staff going arnd cleaning. They all were happy to help. Bathrooms were also clean and stocked. They had screens with boarding gates etc. AC once again was lacking the temp on front desk said 24. Thats another thing that can be made better. Overall okay but definitely room for improvement.
