One of the best gluten free breads I’ve had in a while. It’s like a slightly denser, nuttier flavor than a buttermilk biscuit would have. Very filling but not overly so. I didn’t try a sandwich although the salmon one looked so good, they were a bit pricey for my budget right now. Just the bread with butter and jam was perfect. Safety: they said they use different starches to substitute the flour and have a designated cooking space for the GF breads. The potential cross contamination comes from the shared kitchen where they prep things which is why it’s referred to as gluten friendly. I have celiac disease and am being moderately careful (traveling internationally is hard), if you’re being 100% careful you may react but I feel okay.

Best burger (not even considering this is in an airport) I've maybe ever had. Super accommodating for allergies (gluten, dairy, egg) and fresh/healthy. Prices are amazing considering how filling a single sandwich is and how good you feel afterwards. 100% recommend 🔥

After staying in Vancouver for 2 weeks and experiencing all it has to offer in terms of great places to eat, I didn't expect to be adding to the list a place at the airport! But that's what I got - an Indigenous-owned fast food joint where you can get really interesting food. I had the Elk burger and enjoyed it so much I went back and got the Pulled Bison burger. Both were absolutely delicious with juicy meat, nice bread and salad. Another bonus, for someone who is slightly gluten intolerant, is that they offer gluten free bread as an option and yet it still tastes good. The lady at the counter was super friendly too. You owe it to yourself to eat at the Salmon & Bannock if you're at Vancouver airport. I can't imagine why the adjacent Church's Texas Chicken or A&W chain stores get more custom than the Salmon & Bannock diner, although this is another reason to visit, as your queue time will be a lot shorter.
