Don't miss this down to earth restaurant close to Fira. Salt and Pepper is situated about 5-10 minutes walk away from the Caldera and offers affordable and delicious, classic Greek cuisine. Booking in advance is advised during peak times, as the restaurant is small and seemingly popular with locals and tourists alike. Offering complimentary bread and tzatziki as well as dessert; the staff are knowledgeable about which menu items are gluten free and cross contamination which makes this a good restaurant option for people with coeliac disease and gluten intolerance (for example I was provided the best stuffed vine leaves I've ever had instead of bread). The decor is homely and you'll see plenty of international cash and messages pinned to one wall - tokens from grateful patrons proudly displayed by the staff. We really enjoyed the authenticity and warm welcome offered by this place - highly recommend the grilled halloumi with tomato marmalade and of course the grilled Octopus!
