We have a member of our party with food allergies. The server, Cody, wrote this list down to speak with the chef about. Upon returning to the table, he says all they can do is a "gluten free pizza without cheese". The allergy list did not include wheat or gluten. In further discussion, Cody basically implied that food allergy means "no gluten" and this is allegedly is per their chef.
How can a chef not understand that food allergy can be something other than gluten?
Needless to say, we left because this lack of understanding leads to dangerous mistakes.
Just sadly disappointed.
