Salt Smokehouse

I am giving this an overall 5-star rating even though the smokehouse does not serve adult beverages at least when we were there on 10/30/25. What a wonderful contemporary, hipster kind of restaurant. Very fashionable and family friendly. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and quickly seated. Thankfully, we were blessed with service from Sarahi who was a joy. A smile graced her face from ear to ear, and she was incredibly helpful to us even though we were slow to order because we were talking so much. She informed us that alcohol was not being served so we had tea, both sweet and unsweet. She informed my wife that they can make pretty much anything gluten free which excited my wife. We placed our order and enjoyed our new favorite restaurant in Huntsville when we visit there. And then the food arrived. I am at a loss for words on how LARGE the portions were. Our friend had the Stuffed Pig Burger. It might have been taller than he was. A massive amount of meat waiting for him to dig into and enjoy. My wife who is gluten free had the Anointed One, Ginger Chicken on the side and Truffle Fries. We were not expecting the services to be so large. The Truffle Fries could be a meal all by itself. I ordered the Smoked Pull Prok Plate, and I am not sure if the entire pig was on the plate, but it was much more than I could possibly consume. The old saying is true at Salt Smokehouse, "If you walk away hungry, it is your own fault." Wow what an amazing place. Service was great, food was amazing, parking was no issue and Sarahi is wonderful.

Meat was good. They give you a thimble of sauce and want you to pay extra for more. My boys didn’t like the boiled peanuts. Unfortunately, I don’t return to places that batter their fries. There is no reason to put breading on a perfectly good potato. It soaks up more oil, adds gluten, and ruins the flavor. I hope they change this menu item. I will be happy to return when they do.
