I recently dined at Saltgrass and had the pleasure of being served by Brandon Rodriguez.
From the moment we sat down, Brandon’s attention to detail and knowledge of food allergies, specifically gluten, were outstanding.
When we mentioned we couldn’t have the bread due to an allergy, he immediately asked if it was gluten-related, which no other server had ever done before. To our surprise, he let us know that Saltgrass offers gluten-free bread! We’ve been coming here for a long time as Landry's members, and this was the first time anyone ever mentioned this.
Brandon didn’t stop there, he brought us a gluten-sensitive menu, something no one else had ever done in all our visits, even though we’ve mentioned to them about our gluten allergy.
He even went the extra mile to fact-check why certain menu items weren’t gluten-free, like the brisket with cheese and chips, explaining the cross-contamination issue with fried items. I was floored by how much care he took in ensuring our safety, especially compared to previous visits where we unknowingly consumed gluten.
He also made a special effort to have the green beans steamed instead of fried, which I didn’t realize was necessary to make them gluten-free.
Thanks to Brandon’s thoroughness, I finally learned about the hidden risks in the menu and could make safer choices. Our steaks came out perfectly cooked, just as we ordered.
Brandon’s knowledge, care, and willingness to accommodate our dietary needs have restored my faith in dining at Saltgrass. This level of service is rare, and I can’t thank him enough!
