Saltwater

Definitely not the experience we were expecting. It has been awhile since we were at Saltwater - we were last there in 2013 at the old location and it was excellent. It was a very different experience this time. Service was extremely slow, especially given that there were only a few other tables that were occupied. Just over an hour before we got the one appetizer that we shared between 2 of us. Our mains left a lot to be desired. The cod was very undercooked and the salmon was just “fine”. This was after witnessing multiple dishes going to wrong tables over and over, and then when ours finally arrived the server announced our gluten free salmon dish (we are not gluten free). The whole evening felt very chaotic and disorganized even though it did not seem busy at all. Our server was very kind and apologetic, she did it take the cod off of our bill. Overall, it was very disappointing and hopefully just a very “off” night for the staff/restaurant.

Wonderful restaurant in the heart of downtown. Ambiance was lovely, staff was great. Chef was super accomadating, offering almost all menu items gluten free with no worries of cross contamination. Food was fabulous! Loved the cod tongues, calamari, and risotto. All gluten free and full of delicious flavour!
