We were really excited to try this place and ordered a variety of items to enjoy both in-store and at home. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the rude and unprofessional behaviour of the owner.
When I quietly and respectfully let him know that my pie was cold and undercooked, his reaction was unnecessarily defensive and dismissive. Rather than listening, he argued that it was “meant to be that way” because it was gluten-free. Raw pastry, cold chicken, with a white (not even browned) top? After feeling the pie himself and realizing it was, in fact, cold, he shifted the story claiming they pre-cook and reheat them. Clearly that step was missed.
Did he apologise or handle it professionally? Not at all. He rudely tossed me another pie, as though I was inconveniencing him, which, shockingly, was also cold. I had to take it home and reheat it myself. No one wants to risk eating undercooked chicken.
To make matters worse, he displayed this behaviour in full view of his young impressionable staff, setting a poor example. It’s clear that hospitality may not be the right industry for him.
Bit of a shame that our experience was negative due to a sad sack, as the rest our items were amazing!
