Terrible chef- we asked for the chef to prepare our gluten free pasta in a fresh pot of water and… get this… he said NO.
So they advertise gluten free pasta, but cook it in the same water as their gluten pasta.
❌❌❌ avoid at all costs.
I’d give this place zero stars if possible- they’re waiting for a lawsuit advertising “gluten free” and preparing in this way.
[update, responding to review below]
Two members of our group needed gluten free options, one was celiac, one was gluten sensitive. When we sat down, we were assured there were gluten free options. Had I not asked about the water/pot situation (which isn’t common to ask if someone is told there is a gluten free option) one of our members would have gotten very, very sick.
Staff should be better trained to clarify these caveats when asked, should not say that you serve “gluten free” (because it’s not free from gluten due to the way you cook your pasta), and frankly, getting a new pot of water isn’t that difficult, even in a small kitchen; Smaller kitchens in NYC are able to do this.
I stand by my review, and I hope your group makes some serious changes, so as not to risk the health of future patrons. Allergies and celiac disease aren’t preferences, and should be treated with the severity they deserve. Do better.
