We've greatly enjoyed the food at Savona in the past. While our recent dinner was good, we were slightly disappointed with a few of the menu choices.
The roasted beet salad was very good, but the wood fired octopus appetizer was just okay. There were 3 small pieces of octopus that were quite chewy while most of the dish was potatoes.
I do appreciate how easy it is to eat gluten free here which is another reason I like Savona. But it was disappointing to get the same exact pasta entree (Mafaldine) as someone else at the table only for their dish to have substantially more meat + mushrooms while mine was an afterthought or whatever was left. My dish was mostly sauce.
My husband enjoyed the pork chop entree and his Caesar salad.
I typically get the Faroe Island Salmon so I thought I'd try something else.
Excellent service, but I'm not sure what happened with some dishes being good while others were Eh. Seems like there was a real problem with consistency on a slow night so the kitchen wasn't slammed.
