I have eaten all over the world. And the experience I had at Sazón with Alisha as our host, was one of the best! It was also an honour to meet Chef Fernando Olea, what a legend. Everything was perfection and you could tell by looking around the restaurant, how much everyone enjoyed the experience. Sopa de Amor was phenomenal, a medley of perfectly balanced flavors, and I don’t particularly even like soup, this blew my mind. I also had the Shrimp Enchiladas (Cayoacan) which, oh my goodness, was perfection. And while I rarely order steak when out to eat, the Popocatepetl was divine. The Smokey flavors of the beef cooked to perfection with the various mole sauces…. I was speechless. Also, margaritas? Just don’t miss out. Alisha recommended the perfect one! Lastly, it’s the chef’s dessert for a reason, Dulce Sinfonia was perfectly orchestrated by Alisha as she guided us through the tasting experience. Also if you have allergies, I found everyone very helpful in advising me on the right gluten free choices. The experience was one of my most memorable flavor adventures and I was extremely impressed with the staff and had to refrain from asking for a selfie with the Chef. I cannot wait to go back!

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. I have Celiac disease and do my research before going to any restaurant due to the fear of becoming violently ill from my food. I did research and reviews indicated that Sazon was able to accommodate those with Celiac Disease and or gluten intolerances in the past. Our reservation was for 7:15 and we were promptly seated. However, we then "met" our waitress. She seemed to have very little idea as to where she was or what she was doing as we would ask her questions and not hear back from her for 10-15 minutes at a time. Initially, we were offered drink menus and no food menus. She told us she would bring them shortly. It took almost 30 minutes to see a food menu. When we did, I had questions about what I could eat, as I told her as soon as we sat down that I would need guidance with the menu. I specifically asked if particular dishes containing "corn tortillas" would be fine. She then proceeded to vanish for almost 15 minutes when I asked if she could check with the chef if those dishes would be suitable for me. When she was failing to reappear, I had to ask another server if she could go find our waitress as it was now pushing close to an house since we had arrived and I still had no idea what I was even able to eat there. When she did return, she told me that basically nothing on the menu was safe. I could have none of the moles, and that they do not make their own tortillas in house. For a restaurant that claims to be the calibre that they are presenting themselves as to not know if the tortillas they are serving contain flour is absolutely ludicrous. The chef then came over to speak with me as to what I could have and he too had absolutely no idea what to serve me and was just going to wing it. We left without having food and utterly disappointed. It was a complete mess. Avoid this place at all costs if you have any sort of food allergy. Even after explaining that gluten and wheat were my issues, our server got that confused with "nuts".
