Stopped in for a Mother's Day lunch. We had a reservation, so we were seated promptly. Service was attentive with casual elegance. We selected from the special Mother's Day Menu. Our starter was a Caesar salad. Entrees included chicken, pasta carbonara, gluten-free spaghetti, and a gnocchi plate with mussels. All were delicious. Full bar and extensive wine list available. Wood fired oven for pizzas. Lovely atmosphere in a unique historic setting.

Nice looking place, really mediocre food. Service was just ok, a few missteps and miscommunications here and there. Overall, the food was really the main problem. My martini was also terrible. Overall, I didn’t like anything, I tolerated the carbonara which was watery and poorly prepared (the pork in it was tasty though). My wife’s bolognese was also generic. Apps were pretty bad and peculiarly seasoned. I definitely don’t understand the softened, bendy crudité that tasted watery. One major problem, they did try and re-serve me a pork chop that originally had tempura onion rings on it despite me telling them about my gluten allergy. They took it to the kitchen, scraped off the onion rings and poured more sauce on it. When I asked if it was the same pork chop, the first server lied about it saying it was a different pork chop (I was being polite, I knew it was the same one). After the first server lied, I pointed out that they couldn’t have re-fired a pork chop in the time allotted so a second server double-checked with the kitchen who confirmed it was the same pork chop. This is a pretty big mistake when it comes to allergies. The gluten wouldn’t kill me but it would make me very sick for several days. For other people with more serious allergies, this is a real concern. All that being said, I just want to be clear. Even if they hadn’t tried to serve me the same pork chop and risk an allergic reaction, the food itself really wasn’t good. My review would still be at the same level. It was simply a disappointing meal. We all left with the majority of our meal in to-go boxes. None of us has eaten any more since we got home.
