We enjoyed our visit on a Saturday morning. The food was good (they had gluten free options), service great, ambience great. They were not serving meals on the beautiful deck and I look forward to going back in the summer to enjoy a meal in the deck with views of the Mississippi.

We came on a very busy Sunday, so I’m writing with that acknowledgment and with some grace in that area. We couldn’t tell if the restaurant was just understaffed or what was going on. From what we could see, there were just 2 waitresses inside and they were struggling with keeping up with some basic tasks. Additionally, on the menu it stated “ask your server about what meals can be made gluten free.” I did this and was told “well we have gluten free toast.” I ended up subbing out the toast on a meal and by the end of breakfast I could tell that there had been some massive amount of cross contamination. I understand there was no guarantee of a celiac safe meal, but the knowledge of the wait staff and the willingness to check what could be made gluten free was lacking. A huge positive was the hostess, whom I believe is named Emma, as we heard it in passing. She was on top of things in the biggest way. Both wait staff left a serving tray on its holder in the center of 4 tables and kept edging around it with seemingly no intention of getting it out of the way for a solid 15-20 minutes. Emma saw it one time and immediately took care of it, as well as bussed the tables, sat new customers, etc. Again- I understand it was a very busy day and they seemed understaffed, but we were excited to go and left less than impressed.
