Schmidt's Pastry Cottage

What a fun pastry store, and a great place for lunch. I want to say that it is similar to Kneaders but I feel like Schmidt's did a better job on the pastry side. I really liked the variety of pastries you could select from, and they even included a small dessert with the lunch purchase. That was really cool to see. I got the Reuben sandwich and I got the peppermint brownie with it. I thought the Reuben sandwich was great, I would have preferred more meat and less sauerkraut. My plate even came with a side of potatoe salad. Not the best and could have used more mustard. But we did have a large group and a tall order to fill so getting out the food warm and tasty is a challenge in itself which the store completed. Even the kids meals were fun and my kiddo loved the applesauce and the small cupcake. Checkout my pictures for that. There were fun gifts to get and smell treats to grab on the go and even wide selection of pastries to grab. The service was good and prompt, but they could have used more communication when breaking up our order. We did try their gluten free and dairy free macrons and they were quit surprising. This store was full of good surprises. However in conclusion my favorite part was the pastries and the unique environment. Cons; minor adjustments to the food and more communication on the staff. But all in all we will definitely be coming back.

Schmidt’s Pastry Cottage is hands down one of our favorite places to eat! The food is amazing and we love sitting on the patio with our pups. I am gluten free and very picky. I am obsessed with their chicken berry salad. Like I literally crave it. Plus, they have so many yummy treats, even for those with diet restrictions like me. The staff is kind and welcoming. You will absolutely love this place!
