Sea Level NC

I have been oyster bar hopping this year and this is becoming my go to spot. I tend to try all the local (NC/VA) oysters and then get more of my favorites. But Mike, the manager recommended Rocky Rhodes after hearing my favorite oysters are meaty and briny and if that sounds like your oysters please try them. They are a new favorite. The non-celiac member of the party wanted me to shout out the shrimp po' boy as well. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive despite the busy Saturday atmosphere. I can't wait to go to the oyster happy hour next! Final note: I am very sensitive to sound and crowded restaurants are a big offender for this. I've only ever sat at the bar here, it's been close, but I've not had to use my earbuds yet. Mileage may vary, but its acoustics definitely make it quieter than a lot of other places I've been downtown on a Saturday.

This place is sleek, elegant, but pricey. I think if you were going out to celebrate this is the perfect place to go. Overall the mail was very nice. Everything was extremely flavorful and there was nothing bad. The sea level oyster and then pei #8 oyster was very good. But my favorite was the sea level. I say if you are not super hungry but want a reasonably portioned meal this is where you should go. If you like to eat a lot this definitely does come at a cost. If you were celiac best place has dedicated gluten-free gree options on the menu. I like that. Try their watermelon sauce for the oysters. I'd drink the sauce on its own. Highly recommend.
