Sea Ranch Sushi Evanston

Sea Ranch has been one of my favorite sushi places in Evanston for ages. Not only is their sushi delicious and affordable, but the grocery aisle is super comprehensive for the size! It’s so nice to be able to grab curry mix, Japanese teas, and even onigiri so close to my home. The main reason I am writing this review is because I was so blown away with their customer service on a recent order. My friend was visiting and has severe celiac. I was excited to see how large and comprehensive the gluten free menu was. Not only that, but the staff were so careful to package the GF items separately as I requested. They even included GF soy sauce which we didn’t request! It’s so nice to see a place you already love go above and beyond. Thank you so much Sea Ranch!

The food is great as is the service in my experience. The issue is I've had reactions to the gluten free sushi several times. I'm unsure if it's cross contamination, the GF soy sauce or the rice they use, but watch out. Highly recommend the restaurant for someone without Celiac's.
