A Celiacs Dream Restaraunt! Our two visits to the Sea Shed last week were definitely highlights of our trip! Our group of 6 included one teenager with celiac disease.. We reached out to the restaurant before leaving Canada and were assured that all gluten free options on the menu are completely gluten free and that there would be absolutely no cross contact. When we arrived at The Sea Shed for our first dinner experience, we knew within minutes that we were in for a treat! The environment is just what you’d want while dining next to the ocean. The structure, decor and seating is welcoming, comfortable and beautiful. More importantly, the staff were all so friendly and never made my daughter feel like her food needs were an inconvenience. This is truly rare! By the time we finished our meal, we had already booked another reservation. When we returned, we explained to the waiter about our daughter’s celiac disease and he was so attentive. He made a couple trips back and forth to the kitchen to make sure that what she ordered would be safe. One of the drinks that she hoped to order was not considered to be gluten free, and we so appreciated that the waiter communicated that to us and then suggested a mocktail that could be made instead. The manager even came to our table and joked that kitchen staff "practically shower to their shoulders” when they know a patron has celiac disease. The warmth and care exhibited by all the staff really made us feel welcome and comfortable in enjoying a meal. I wish I had noted their names - they deserve credit! Everyone’s appetizers, entrees and desserts were beautiful to look at and tasted even better. We can’t wait to return. Thank you, thank you!
