Shavans @ Pakenham Indian Restaurant

I had never been the type to dine at Indian restaurants due to their very hit and miss nature so when I moved to Pakenham a decade ago I tried this place as it was one of very few that delivered at that time and the only one I had a menu for, but my expectations weren't overly high. My view on the cuisine as a whole was redefined that night! To say I was blown away was an understatement and it remains, to this day, one of my top 2 Pakenham establishments. I even met and and dated someone from the area who considered this place a hidden gem (they weren't wrong) and took me for a dine in experience, which showed they only get better when their atmosphere and hospitality is added to their cuisine. There is a reason so many others have come and gone, but they still remain. This place is a must and I cannot recommend more highly. Even as I write this my mouth is watering and I may well order tonight! Also, Indian is very similar to Mexican in that it is very inclusive of gluten-free with much of the traditional dishes omitting it entirely. Just exercise caution around the breads and perhaps a few starters, everything else should be OK. If you haven't tried here yet, you are missing out!
