Shepherd's Artisan Bakehouse Castle Towers

I rang ahead to make sure there were gluten free pies available as I was driving over an hour for the privilege. I was expecting a freezer to get them out of myself, staff were lack lustre and telling me there were none, not wanting to offer the info I could get them cold, then couldn't tell how many there were of each flavour, dragging the information out of them like their life depended on it. Get them into the oven and onto plate - it's a solid grey mass inside. There are innumerable gluten free gravies from Gravox and Maggi which you can not tell are gf, they must have used the cheapest saw dust out to achieve this result. So tired of being expected to be grateful for gluten free offering that are subpar when they charge accordingly too. Edited to add, the website specifically says they make the gf pies themselves, "recent breakthrough with delicious Gluten Free pie pastry..."

The gluten free pies are awful, they really shouldn't bother. Go to Coles next door and get one from the freezer section.
