Second time dining at the bar. We did the Shiro’s Omakase (4 courses, 15 pieces) and two bottles of the Nigori. Plus, two additional pieces of nigiri, and mochi for dessert.
The chefs here are amazing artisans and take special care with allergies (my wife has celiac). Our chef explained many of the different aspects about the fish that we were being served, and was very knowledgeable and friendly to answer any questions.
The entire course consisted of two appetizers: a plate with a variety of delicacies, and a monkfish soup. What followed was the most amazing assortment of 17 pieces of sushi that I have ever tasted. Certain ones melt in your mouth, others have a crunch, but every single sense is awakened during the meal.
If you have high expectations for sushi, look no further. But make a reservation or show up early to stand in line. It’s a popular place.
