October 20, 2023 - Living in the area, my wife & I try all the restaurants in a 30 mile radius. . . Siam Thai Kitchen opened 3 months ago ( in the former Urban Element Restaurant location).
The rumors were mostly positive about Siam Thai Kitchen ! We met friends for dinner, and the place was packed! They have patio seating, best wait for summer time, it was in the 50’s last night, and my wife said, “ INSIDE “! Several folks met us at the door, with their “ carry out” boxes! That’s a good sign! Also folks were standing, and waiting for a table . . . another good sign!
The menu offers 6 pages of Thai, Laotian, and Vietnamese fusion food. The Curry sauces are gluten free, and include yellow, green, and red varieties! We ordered up crispy fried rolls as an appetizer! Also tried several Maine Beers. . . I liked the Orono Brewing Company’s Mason Marsh Octoberfest beer! The ladies preferred the Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon red wines!
The service was prompt ( actually the chef’s brother) at our table! I forgot his name, but a very friendly & helpful server when describing the Thai dishes to us! My wife ordered the spicy fish with vegetables, I ordered the crispy duck w/vegetables at a heat rating 🌶️ 🌶️. I like some heat and usually order “3 heat level” , but the rumors said go lower! ( perfect heat for me).
Overall, all four us us enjoyed the evening experience! Pace of the wait was fine! The food quantity & presentation was EXCELLENT! The service was also very good! Thank you to the chef , owner, and staff . . . We will return !
PS Thailand was called SIAM , years ago.
* There’s a Siam Restaurant & Bar in Lewiston , don’t think it’s connected?
** There’s a Siam Thai Kitchen in Edmonton, Canada, not sure there’s a connection?
