Snowy Owl Cafe & Roastery

Really good coffee and I thought the shop itself was so cool! There is a gift shop and a case with pastries and baked goods. As a consumer with celiac disease, I always like to comment on GF options. Caveat: I did not come here for food, and didn't expect GF options here. I was surprised to notice there was a gluten-free pumpkin bread available! Sadly, it was in the same case as non-GF items. It didn't instill any confidence in me that care was taken in preparation to avoid cross contact, so I skipped on sampling it #celiaclife (gluten-loving husband bought it, and gave rave reviews). But it's a good option for those who avoid gluten for reasons other than celiac/allergies. However! If Snowy Owl would like to go the extra step to make their GF option available to those with celiac disease or wheat/gluten allergies, my recommendation would be to 1) prepare the gluten-free item in a dedicated GF space/kitchen and mark it as such on signage, if it isn't already (or order from somewhere that has a dedicated GF kitchen), and 2) wrap the items individually and keep on a shelf above/separate space from gluten-containing items to avoid coming in contact with wheat/crumbs. I understand the struggle of catering to any type of allergy, not something every business can do, and I never expect it. But since I saw an effort made to cater to GF coffee shop lovers (kudos!), I figured I'd add my two cents! (I think I also noted some pre-packaged snacks that might have been GF as well, maybe the crisped rice treats and granola bars? If I was actually looking for food I would have checked.) The coffee that I had was DELICIOUS, and there are dairy-free milk options. Come for the great vibes and incredible coffee.
