Sobakatsu

Amazing! We finally have good soba in San Francisco. Broth was light and rich, and complements the subtle taste of the noodles. I loved every bite. Menu says gluten free, but they use a fish broth for everything (not vegan/vegetarian). Prepare for about an hour wait. I arrived as a solo diner at 2:20pm on a Friday, and was seated around 3:10pm. When I left at 3:40pm there was no line outside (but still people waiting to be seated inside). Seating is very limited, and there's only one table for four people (the rest are solo or two-person setups). Expect close to zero service, as it's just two guys busy making wonderful food in the kitchen. Order your food, find a table, grab your own water and bus your own stuff/wipe down your table once you're done.
