Social Brew Cafe

This is really disappointing writing this review as when we had been previously it was great. Today’s service and food was absolutely shocking to say the least. After ordering breakfast and being told Eggs Benny is possible to be gluten free, the waitress 2 minutes before she brought my food told me I cannot have hollandaise as contains gluten and can swap for relish? Ok, not ideal.. this wasn’t even the worst part of it, the eggs on all of my family’s breakfasts are snotty and whites not cooked and bacon stone cold on soggy gf bread. I know GF bread isn’t ideal, it just needs to be toasted longer to actually resemble bread. Something a cafe should probably know and be able to cook to a decent standard. My breakfast was probably the worst I’ve had in a long time and it’s sad I can’t trust to eat out and have a hot breakfast and eggs cooked properly. The attitude from the ‘manager’ removing $2 and still trying to charge full price for breakfast, no apologies and also arguing with customers about your awful food is embarrassing. Taking responsibility and owning up when something isn’t right is what will get you return customers or making up for a mistake by offering alternatives before actually cooking it would be helpful. If I could rate this cafe 0 I would. Go to single O in Surrey hills next time they are top tier. The

Staying in Pyrmont this was a gem to find - really great coffee, delicious food and exceptional service. As a coeliac they were really great in providing heaps of excellent gluten free options too. Will definitely be back in future visits to town and absolutely recommend to all.
