Brunch at Sofia was delightful. They offer a selection of gluten-free options, which was a wonderful surprise. I enjoyed the bruschetta and Uova Strapazzate, both of which were delicious. Our server was attentive and took extra care to ensure my dishes were allergy-friendly.

Overall not a good experience. The service was very shifty and our waitress hardly spent any time with our table and was often rolling her eyes at my group of friends celebrating a birthday. We got a basket of bread and within the folds of the napkins that held the bread we found old used chewed up gum. After politely bringing this to the attention of our server she said she would notify a manager. Nothing occurred and we had to flag her over to check on what her manager told her regarding this gum incident and all she told us was that “it is not apart of our policy to reuse old bread baskets. We’re sorry”. They did not recover from this or intend to show any sincere form of an apology to ensure we, the customers left satisfied. Overall all of our food was extremely bland, and small in portion. My friend ordered the $40 pasta special with freshly shaved truffle. By the time the server had given him his plate his pasta had run cold and the dry shavings of truffle did not mix well. He said it tasted like boiled pasta with butter and pepper. My friend ordered the lobster and a side of spinich and the spinich came messy on the plate, and looked like it had been tipped or spilled over but still served to her. She said there was hardly any meat and that the lobster was tough. Lastly my friend who cannot eat gluten, who ordered a salad, was told she cannot add any protein to her salad. The server did not suggest any alternatives to her at this time and rolled her eyes at her. All of this would have been easily excusable had our service been top notch and classy, like the establishment claims to be. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially no one celebrating a special event. Ps our server was a red headed middle aged woman. Thanks!
