Sogna Napoli Trattoria & Pizzeria

I ate a the best gluten free pizza in all of Tampa bay. I was shocked with how good it was! I come here frequently and it never disappoints. Great food and great service

I heard about this restaurant in an article i recently read. After looking at the full menu online i saw gluten-free pasta was an option as my young son unfortunately has dietary restrictions. This is one of the most important issues for me when deciding on a place to eat. There was no gluten-free pasta available when i ordered. After driving 40 minutes i had no back up plan as i wanted to get up and leave. My wife was excited for the arancini appetizer. The five less than golf ball sized arancini left alot to be desired. The caesar salad was a nice portion but the dressing itself was watery. We enjoyed the homeade gnocchi but the pancetta fat was not rendered as some of the italian bacon was inedible. The 24 hour meat sauce may be great but seemed to be tossed with red sauce in the pan and did not integrate together or with the pasta. We also had a Margherita pizza. The first one was raw tasting and they made us a second which was alot better but still wasn't great. I believe just less dough stretched thinner would have solved this issue. The fresh light taste of a quick cooking neopolitan shouldn't be dough. I know if a few simple execution changes were made my meal could be a 4 or 5 star. I enjoy supporting local small business and i understand the difficult task of day to day operations but food allergy is the biggest concern and a simple box of pasta changes a review completely.
