Soho Tavern Gateshead

We came to Soho Tavern this evening on recommendation. Wow what an absolute jewel of a restaurant this is to visit. From the friendly staff on arrival, explaining the menu and ordering process to us (credit to the young boy too who done a great job helping he was great 👍) to the prompt delivery of the food which was delightfully presented. Meals can be tailored with your choice of meat and spice heat level, the menu was great too with a range of tandoori hot plates (which smelt amazing when they were going past us) and curry’s, vegan options and gluten free options. We opted for a the Dahi puri chaat and onion bhajis, a chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, pilau rice, mushroom rice, pershwari and cheese naan breads. Our meals were delicious, full of flavour and the right spice level that we chose. The naan breads were perfect, tasty and a lovely soft dough. We didn’t manage to eat all our meal so brought the leftovers home with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will absolutely return again

Food is amazing. Always tastes fresh and flavours are great in each dish. I ordered vegan butter chicken and they advised they could make a vegan garlic naan for me which was a bonus! Staff are really efficient and friendly. We got a check back at the appropriate times and the table was cleared promptly. Great selection of vegan and vegetarian food, including several gluten free options. Atmosphere was good as always. Really can't recommend Soho Tavern enough - a must if you like Indian food.
