Visited Southwold on Saturday, drove up from Margate. I phoned the previous day to see if they offered gluten free fish and chips and whilst on the phone asked about the best time to come for food. The lady suggested midday would be quiet at but at no point mentioned they stop serving half 2 through til 6.... We arrived at 2.40 to be told sorry, kitchen is shut. Now I probably could have done a bit more research but you would think they'd have said 'oh by the way....' when I asked about times! Wasted journey and a very disappointed gluten free teenager who had been looking forward to it.

Great pub. Excellent food with gluten and dairy free options. The beer battered fish and chips was delicious. Staff were friendly. We would happily go again.
