Soule Domain managed to balance gourmet food with a relaxed, down to earth atmosphere. Located in a beautiful, yet cozy, log cabin situated on the California side of the Nevada border, it's something of a hidden treasure.
Our server, Steve, was a character in the best sense of the word. He was extremely knowledge about all of the dishes, and very friendly. He was unusually supportive in helping my wife find options she was happy with that worked with her dietary restrictions.
Every course was noteworthy. To begin with, there was a perfectly seasoned hummus with bread (he brought some fresh veggies for my wife, who is gluten free). There was an Asian salad which was fresh and perfectly sized to share. Soup was a carrot ginger, and was creamy whilst remaining vegan. My wife enjoyed a mustard chicken, while I had an Asian style Ono. Both were extremely good. To cap things off, I had a wonderful bread pudding, while my wife enjoyed fresh berries.
We will definitely return when in the area again.
