I made a reservation at Spago for Valentine's Day, expecting a exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met.
While the food was good, the portions were extremely small and overpriced. I was shocked at how little food we received for the high prices.
Another major disappointment was the seating. The whole attraction of Spago is the stunning view of the Bellagio fountains. However, the tables with a view are limited, and we were seated at a table with no view at all. This was a major letdown, especially considering the high prices.
However, my experience was marred by a significant issue. As someone with gluten intolerance, I was disappointed to find that the menu was not clearly marked with gluten-free options. When I asked our server, they assured me that they could modify any dish to make it gluten-free. I specifically ordered a steak with this understanding, but unfortunately, I still experienced a gluten reaction.
This was not only disappointing but also concerning, as it suggests a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. Given the high prices and the restaurant's reputation, I expected a much higher level of service and attention to dietary needs.
Overall, I would not recommend Spago to others, and I would not return. While the ambiance and service were pleasant, the overpriced food, lack of gluten-free options, gluten reaction, and disappointing seating, made for a disappointing and frustrating experience.

The pictures show the prime filet mignon $88 and the Mediterranean octopus $34. Drinks were $25 each and one of them had a huge ball of ice and maybe 3oz of drink 🤦🏻♀️
