As someone who would bury themselves in curry if given the chance, I guess you could say I have high standards. WELL, Spice Malabar exceeded them! I’m always looking to try a new dish when I go to Indian restaurants, and was happy to see the large amount of southern Indian cuisine (give me all the spices!!). As someone who’s gluten free, I’m never able to have the naan (RIP), so you can imagine how happy I was to see the many varieties of dosa available. We opted for the spring dosa, with cabbage, carrots, paneer and red chili spread. The crispness of the rice-lentil pancake was PERFECT and the flavor profile had so much going for it. For my main course, I tried to chicken ammwara, a coconut milk/mango based mild curry. I COULD DROWN in the sauce. 😭 the portions are also nice and hefty, so I’m looking forward to my leftovers today! The overall price was also incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. It was Valentine’s Day, so they were slammed, but they did their best and all with a smile and several (not necessary) apologies!
A new favorite spot, for SURE! Don’t miss out on the best Indian food in the capital region that I’ve had yet!
