Sprouts Vine Bistro

Was a quiet evening in the restaurant tonight, only 3 other tables came during our meal, but the server was quite knowledgeable, answered all my questions, the chef came out to speak to our table several times throughout the meal, and made us feel beyond welcome and wanted honest feedback from us, to which we could not rave enough. My grandfather and I shared an order of smoked chicken wings smothered in house made Saskatoon BBQ sauce. which I expected to be tart, but chef raj has that sauce so beautifully balanced that I couldn't stop licking the plate once the MASSIVE wings were gone. The bison burger($22) is made of pure bison meat and gluten free, and was topped with Swiss cheese, bacon and more Saskatoon BBQ sauce in a bed of arugula and tomato. And I'd put it up as the best burger in the city, (and head got two more completely different burgers on the menu still to be tried) and was served with a large portion of tallow fries. The steak sandwich ($19) was an 8oz new York strip served on house made focaccia bread dressed in maple curry demi glace, with tallow fries. The demi was so light and added just a hint of both sweet and spice to the reverse seared sous vide steak. Came out perfectly temped, and delicious. And the tallow fries where crispy on the outside smooth mashed potatoes on the inside and so flavourful thanks to the seasoned salt and beef tallow. Will be back many more times as there is much on the menu that needs to be tried still. The food Al had a major upscale feel, with a very modest price point, well below what I was expecting.

Had a chance to try Sprouts Vine Bistro via a takeout order today. The team on the phone was super helpful, friendly and polite. The prime rib sandwich was fantastic and my friend really enjoyed her Tequila Lime Chicken burger as well. Nice that they had a gluten free option for the burger bun. She said the restaurant looked great when she picked up and we both look forward to visiting again soon! Great addition to the Red Deer dining scene. Keep up the great work Sprouts!
