Stagecoach – Country Roadhouse & BBQ

We were very impressed with the quality of the food, the modern Western ambience, and the service. We went for lunch and had the burger and beef brisket sandwich. They had a gluten-free bun at no extra charge which is great for special diets. The beef brisket was phenomenal, perfectly caramelized and with incredible smoke flavor. Stagecoach smokes their own meats with their own pit master. The burger was a hefty one and perfectly prepared. They both came with sides. The fries and the Napa coleslaw were both delicious. We ordered a side of Brussels sprouts; very tasty although a little firm for my preference. The restaurant has a mechanical bull that really is ridden on Friday and Saturday according to our server. It's a bit of a pricey menu; the quality of the food is excellent.

I wanted something gluten free to dip into the artichoke dip. The waitress said she could bring some carrot sticks. I wasn't told there would be an upcharge for a tiny bowl of ill cut non organic carrot sticks. Apparently, the manager told her to charge us nearly 15 extra dollars for this measly bowl of maybe 9 celery and carrot sticks. She didn't come back and warn us of the outrageous upcharge, she just simply charged it to us without saying anything. There was no need to fuss or upcharge for a gluten sensitivity. I don't have an allergy, didnt specify one, nor was i asked. All I needed were some carrot sticks. Shouldn't have been such a fuss. The food was mediocre, but edible. There isn't anything special to come here for. Better local food can be had for a better price elsewhere. The smoked wings barely tasted smoked. What else can I say? Go somewhere else unless you want to be overcharged and get a horrible stomach ache.
