Station Pub & Grill

Stopped of here for something eat after visiting an Alpaca Farm near by, I had the roast and hubby had a steak, hubby was more than happy with the steak,my roast was ok have had better, the beef was rather chewy and some of the roast potatoes where rock hard, but not crispy hard which I would mind but just hard, however I do give them brownie points for having gluten free gravy, all in all just ok

Tried this pub for lunch while on a shopping trip, and it certainly didn't disappoint! It's in a quiet and leafy corner of Lytham, just off the road leading to Lytham Hall, but only 5 minutes walk away from the busy main shopping street. Plenty of parking close by. Formerly the old railway station, it looks very Victorian on the outside, but is modernised and spacious inside, with a choice of seating and TV screens showing sport. There's a games room at one end, with a pool table and darts, and also some nice outside tables under canopies. I chose to eat inside, in a cosy corner next to the window. The staff who served me were very polite, attentive and friendly. Large menu that included brunches, grills, kebabs, sandwiches and traditional main courses. There was a separate children's menu, smaller portions for adults, vegan and gluten-free options. Ordered the posh fish pie, with carrots and broccoli. Delicious chunks of cod and salmon, and jumbo prawns in a tasty sauce, cooked to perfection! Vegetables were just right, neither too crispy nor mushy. Great choice of desserts and sundaes for afters. The lemon meringue pie with strawberries was beautifully presented and deliciously tangy. Good wine and latte too. Altogether a very satisfying lunch, and not too expensive. Would come here again.
