Stella's

If you have a gluten allergy, beware! We were in town visiting local friends and went to Stella’s for brunch. We had a great brunch however my wife has Celiac disease and is currently violently throwing up as a result of gluten consumption. This was not expected at all as she did her usual due diligence in asking our waiter CJ about gluten free options. CJ was very knowledgeable about dish choices, kitchen risks (eg common toaster) and segregation. This gave my wife good assurances and she chose a simple omelette with hash browns as a side. She was told the hash browns were GF. Sadly something went wrong in the preparation. When we called to give feedback and spoke to their manager, we did get an apology but got little assurance that a good review of what went wrong would be carried out. In summary, as good as brunch was, we won’t go back and all allergics be cautious if you eat there.

It's a great local foot joint! Busy Saturday night and we still got seated quickly and had a wonderful meal and listened to music from the band. An extra benefit was a Saturday night market with vendors set up all along! They had a few gluten free breads to use in place of regular but limited....but the burgers were amazing 😍
