I had heard nothing but great things. I decided to come as they had gluten free options and it’s rare to find a place with a GF hot dog bun. The gentleman who took our order was very nice and the food came out efficiently. The taste of the food (2 dogs and a brat, two fries) were great, my nieces enjoyed theirs a lot. Mine tasted great, although the GF option isn’t really a hot dog bun…it was more like a sub sandwich bun. Within an hour of leaving this place I was SO SICK. Nausea and severe stomach pains - which is what happens if I am accidentally exposed to a fair amount of gluten. While I understand this is not a dedicated gluten free restaurant, I have eaten at many other places that are not either. I suspect Steve’s Hot Dog cross contamination practices are very lax & this is disappointing. If you’re going to offer GF items, you need to be knowledgeable and attempt to at least not make people sick! Before we left, we waited to use the rest room (one was out of order). An employee came out and he had the worst smelling B.O. I have ever experienced. We were gagging in the bathroom. It sort of grosses you out when you know someone is working in the kitchen and they have a body odor issue like that.

Lovely people work there. Jamaican Jerk hot dog was glorious. Bacon bacon dog was great. Mac and cheese dog was a bit under-seasoned, imo. They do customizations if you ask also 👌 Very kind owner. Good bartenders and great beer selection. They are nice to talk to if you're there alone. Very welcoming to the trans and other LGBTQIA community. My aunt with Celiac was able to eat here too, although as always, it's at your own risk at any restaurant (but they do their best and there are GF options).
