Stock and barrel is mentioned in a redit thread about *quiet* restaurants. On the Friday night that we were there it was about as loud as you can imagine a restaurant being.
However, barring the noise, it was amazing experience.
Management was amazing for accomodating some special requests for our evening.
Appetizers of asparagus (the lemon aoli was excellent) and mushrooms (fried using cornstarch rather than flour for our gluten sensitive party members) were brought out promptly and were just right for starting the meal while leaving us ready for mains. The smoked old fashioned garnished with candied orange was a real hit, and while the gin and tonic was too "fru fru" for my son, my daughter and daughter in law loved them. For mains we had the Ribeye, the cacio e pepe, and the salmon. Each was perfectly cooked and delicious. The cacio e pepe was perhaps ever so slightly oily, but that is my only note.
This kitchen is able to handle gluten free cooking with no cross contamination, but I recommend it regardless of your gluten tolerance level. Just don't choose it for any expectation of having quiet conversation.
