Sunday Dough

I had heard good things about this place, so when I knew I would be passing through Sheboygan on a Saturday morning, I placed an order online a day ahead of time, a quick and easy process. The pink building is hard to miss, and the tropical decor and neon signs inside are cute. My order was ready and waiting in a pink box near the door. The donuts are gorgeous, but taste even more amazing. They remind me of the old fashioned donuts my Mom would fry on weekend mornings. My husband appreciated that they’re substantial, not too fluffy and cakey. He tried a lemon cheesecake, and I got a Bomb Pop and Maple French Toast, both available gluten free! I noticed they had available in the retail case donut holes too, and a smaller size of donut, which is a great option for trying even more flavors! Definitely worth a detour off the freeway, we’ll be back.

I was excited to hear of a new local donut shop on the Southside of Sheboygan. But then come to find out that they offer gluten-friendly* donuts?! Whaaaa.... AMAZING! It isn't uncommon to watch my kids enjoy something that I'm not able to try, so finding a place that we can all grab a treat is pretty cool. Our family has sampled many of the different flavors + I've overheard, "I like the gluten-free ones better." Sunday Dough does a great job offering up their core flavors + then peppering in a few featured flavors each month. Not all of their flavors are available in the gluten-friendly version, so variety is a bit limited. Just take note that gluten-friendly donuts are not kept on-hand like some of the other extras you might be lucky enough to find when you go in to pick up your order (at least not at the time of this post). I have to order at least 2 days in advance to be sure that it's made for me. Ordering is a super simple process from their website. *Please note: I have a gluten sensitivity, NOT a gluten allergy. This is not a certified gluten-free kitchen, so take that for what it's worth. I do think they do their best to cut down on cross-contamination, even boxing up GFr orders separately from the regular. #sundaydough #donuts
