Sushi Gio Japanese Restaurant

My new favourite celiac-safe restaurant! It's super hard to find affordable gluten free options for any type of food. I've been stuck going to a different sushi restaurant that didn't make great sushi. Then I found this one. They wrote "gf" on the soy sauce and left a note on the receipt. That's so important, bdcause it's easy to doubt that they remembered if it's not marked. Now this will be the only place I go to. AND the avocado roll that wasn't a "small roll" was Enormous!!! Are all the big rolls that size?! It was the best deal I've found in this economy in like five years. Consider me a regular. My birthday is coming up and I be back very soon.

I’ve been coming here for the last year, and today I ordered my regular order of 6 pieces salmon nigiri, 6 pieces of tuna nigiri, CELIAC FRIENDLY. Today they made an error in my order where they included wasabi. With celiac, you cannot eat food which has been cross contaminated at all, at risk of hospitalization. This is not the first time I’ve been almost poisoned here, and I finally called to complain. Upon calling and asking for a new order or credit on my account, I was told they would only credit me for the one piece of sushi that the wasabi had touched (despite my having to throw away $25 pieces of sushi). Huge mistake Sushi Gio, I will be sure to share this to all my friends, family, coworkers and the gluten free community.
