Two star reviews usually get no love and I'm giving a 2 star because the intent was good. Execution, not so much.
Wife has celiacs and has to have everything gluten free. She called in advance and was told all the rolls have real crab. Perfect we thought. So we go in and we're told, no, they all have imitation crab and it's a $5 upcharge for real crab. Not great but we go with the flow. No big deal we think. Just gon e add $20 to our bill. Then we ask a couple of questions about the rolls/menu and the manager proceeds to tell us if we had gone on to their website we would have seen that not all the rolls come with real crab and that no one would have said that when my wife called. Well ok then. It's one thing to not be clear about your menu or even make a mistake but it's another to tell us we're at fault for calling vs going to their website and then wanting to charge $5 in addition to the already upcharged price when we want to substitute salmon for the tempura shrimp. We politely cancelled our order and we are now at MiO Sushi which has a bunch of GF options!
And it's only $2 upcharge here to get real crab. Guess we'll just have to forgo Sushi Mo, it's a shame. I'm sure the food is good.
