Sushi Wara

EDIT: 5 star bump upI (Before you read the review I wanted to add a note that on my 4th visit they were so accommodating over my order (five star veggie and tuna roll which for some reason this time came with a sprinkling of sesame seeds and other things on it and as I'm gluten-free I didn't know what it was. They listen to my concerns, couldn't figure it out and made me fresh food. And they've even made a note on my name and account so that it doesn't happen again. That is stellar customer service - thank you everybody!) now back to my original review,: I always feel the good benchmark of a sushi restaurant is how well they do the basics so I ordered a tuna roll and a veggie roll. The tuna roll was okay but something along the way got dusted with sugar and it was a very unusual flavor to take a bite of tuna and have a sugary aftertaste. So that's a 3.5 The veggie roll on the other hand was done very well. Wonderful combination of vegetables for the price point. But they do one thing that some sushi restaurants do that is a pain point for me - A lot of people don't mind but I do not like eating the cucumber rind. And this was full of it. It's a very minimal amount of cucumber in the world already so I've never understood why they add the rind also. I just always feels like it's a cheap way to fill it and I don't like that. But I was happy that they accommodated my gluten-free request. On their suggestion, the pickled radishes were not added. If you are gluten-free be sure to ask before ordering. So 4.5 for the veggie roll Customer service was excellent as I just dropped in for a takeout order and it was quick, easy and very friendly. Plus points for sending me home with a compostable bag and minimal packaging. Hope you keep that up over time. I would try again with the tuna roll to see if still gets that strange sugar aftertaste. Restaurant ambiance is ok. Similar to any restaurant with standard tables and leatherette tall back dining chairs. The patio was also open with minimal seating. If you were at this restaurant for any of its previous incarnations , it looks pretty much the same Overall a good experience and I would be happy to go back again to dine in and enjoy it at a leisurely pace.
