Swami's Cafe Escondido

Website advertises gluten free options. However, server didn't know what gluten was (she thought corn tortillas contained gluten) and refused to ask kitchen if menu items had gluten or could be modified. She threw up her hands and said "well I don't know". I went with gf pancakes to be safe as they were the only thing clearly marked. They were decent and the bloody Mary was pretty good. Overall nothing to write home about but not bad. My suggestion to management would be if you're going to advertise about having gf options please educate your staff on what those options are.

I really like this Swami’s location. Unlimited coffee bar. Large menu that’s always delicious. Plenty of gluten free options. Nice indoor and outdoor area. Nice bathrooms. Parking can be a little bit of a challenge, but not too bad.
