My wife and I frequent Swiss Chalet when we are too busy / tired to cook at home. We have been to this Swiss Chalet dozens of times. It is definitely a B grade Swiss Chalet but it was close by. After our last experience we will not be back. Food safety is where we draw the line. My wife had to send her meal back after it included a roll, one we specifically asked not to have. My wife is celiac and gluten will make her violently ill. My food was borderline "send it back" as well. When I mentioned that the plate was swimming in copious amounts of gelatinous gravy I was told it is just kids in the back and should expect that kind of quality. The service was terrible, my wife believed that the server was high. I think she was just terrible at her job. The final straw was the coleslaw. I had one bite and then put my fork down. There were gelatinous strings from the fork to the bowl as a bite was lifted. It was visually off, texturally off, and tasted like spoiled milk. We immediately informed the server and had to press her to inform the manager to remove this item from the kitchen immediately. She said that the kitchen would look into it. We were leaving and mentioned to the server that there were multiple people in the bathroom with varying degrees of GI distress(spoiled milk products will do that). She laughed it off and said the manager was having the kitchen remove the offending items now. The manager was sitting in a booth having some chicken and playing a game on his phone.
After we left we contacted the parent company, Cara Foods, and they would not talk to us unless we had the receipt number. They did not care to look into the food safety issue.
I highly suggest you go someplace else when choosing a place to eat out. For the service, the food safety, and managements incompetent refusal to take either one of them seriously should disqualify you from eating in this establishment.
Or, maybe your stomach is stronger than mine. If you choose to eat here....good luck.🤔
